Winnie the Pooh

So, we in our house have been big Winnie the Pooh fans since Zach was little. We used to sing him the Pooh song in the womb. We had a baby pillow that would wind up and play the tune. He started to hum it back to us at 9 months old. He used to watch the movie everyday for what seems like forever. How can you not like Pooh bear? Especially when it gives you quiet time for mommy and daddy.

We have started to experiment with songs with Ryan to see what would calm him down when he is fussy. Do regular nursery rhymes work? No. Barenaked Ladies? (this used to calm big brother down, go figure)... sometimes. Pooh Bear? Most definitely!

So, tonight, we broke out the Pooh Bear movie and let him listen to it, while Zach watched and sang along. It's so great to watch Zach interact with Ryan and for us to see Ryan start to do things that Zach did. We all sat on the couch and it was great to have Ryan on one side and Zach on the other. I felt so complete. I can't imagine life without these two boys!

Zach has really started to develop a love for Ryan. We always knew he loved being a big brother, but he's become much more gentle with him in recent weeks. Althought we did have some doubts in December and January! It's very sweet now! As Ryan gets older, it will only get better.

Here's a photo of Zach meeting Pooh Bear in Disney World. Pooh fed him eggs for breakfast that morning. Ask him about it sometime. It's one of his favorite memories of all time (of the past 4 years!) He was so excited to meet Pooh, that he jumped up and down and gasped as Pooh walked into the room. Very sweet! We can't wait for Ryan to meet Pooh for the first time.

Sorry for my ramblings, I just felt the need to share.
